B'RAIN

Smart water management in urban areas

You don’t restore the balance between man and nature alone. Manufacturers, utilities, engineering offices, designers, contractors and experts unite in co-creation around this idea to provide an answer to the environment of tomorrow.

As an active partner, De Bonte Group therefore contributes fully to intelligent solutions for managing rainwater. With a keen eye on the future, we are building a sustainable environment in which green areas, paving and water are in perfect balance.

Why choose B-Rain Connect ?

Climate robust building tomorrow’s environment in which:

Not a drop of rainwater goes to waste
We offer unique solutions that respect Lansink’s ladder: reuse first, before infiltration. We thus offer solutions where not a drop of rainwater is lost and remains entirely on site.

Giving greens all the space they need to grow
In the complex subsoil of urban infrastructure, we put the tree at the centre. It is our greatest alliance in the fight against climate change.

We make room for biodiversity
By giving trees and plants space, we provide the basis for biodiversity.

We build to people’s needs
The urban environment is at the service of humans. We offer solutions that grow with people’s needs, daring to dream of an environment without a car but with maximum attention to experience.

We work smartly below ground, and multifunctionally above it
Through intensive cooperation with all network managers, we build with smart underground building blocks. In this way, the underground infrastructure can always respond to new needs, while above ground we offer every possibility to a rapidly changing world.

As De Bonte Group, we are ready to work with you to create a climate-proof environment of tomorrow. Let us strive together for a sustainable future where human and nature go together in harmony!

Frequently Asked Questions

• Which projects do we focus on ?

We mainly focus on private projects of a larger scale. Are you working on a residential project, SME zone or business park layout? Contact us. We will work with you to find answers to the new challenges where rainwater (GSV), green space and room should be optimised in an integrated way.

• What info do we need from you ?

A brief summary of your project content with the main details being:

  • Surface area of land
  • Surface of roof
  • Surface of paving
  • Groundwater level
  • Infiltration value underground
  • Possible consumers of rainwater on the site (persons, companies)
  • Green space requirements (number of trees – position)
  • Utility facilities to be provided and requirements (to be) imposed
  • Minimum buffer capacity
  • Watertight collection of polluted water (e.g. in the event of emergencies)
  • Possible ban on infiltration
    • Do we develop a complete plan for you ?

No, we are going to puzzle with you and provide you with building blocks with which we try to optimally combine green space, rainwater (GSV) and (lack of) place. We aim to collectively optimise rainwater (collection and reuse), design landscaping and smart utility storage. In this way, we make your space future-proof by smart underground design. The final choice must be made by you, the client. It is up to the accompanying study bureau to turn the puzzle into an implementation plan. We provide details and adapted building blocks for corner pieces, transitions, etc.

    • Can we help you towards a licensing authority ?

Yes, that is precisely what we are aiming for. We tackle this with a clear concept and the presentation of the various building blocks. We provide concrete answers to the correct use of trees, rainwater (GSV) and the smart storage of utilities in a context of limited space. We support this with models linked to SIRIO, tree studies and consultation with utility companies.

    Regional Urban Stormwater Regulation

Since 2/10/2023, the permit landscape has changed dramatically: the new GSVH (Regional Urban Stormwater Regulation – original in Dutch ‘Gewestelijke Stedenbouwkundige Verordening Hemelwater’) has come into force. Unlike its predecessor, the new regulation also applies to the public domain.  This has a very big impact on designers’ challenges, which were already substantial. In the Flemish public space, plagued by lack of space, it is often quite a task (and sometimes at first sight impossible) to meet the imposed requirements on retention and infiltration. But don’t worry: let our expertise and disruptive solutions inspire you to make your public space future-proof (and GSVH-compliant). We provide (together with our partner experts in the B-Rain Connect network) smart, integral and combined solutions. We aim at collective optimisation of rainwater (collection and re-use), landscaping green areas and smart storage of utilities as much as possible. Discover our innovation B-Rain Connect
